Vila Real de Santo Antonio

Vila Real de Santo Antonio is situated on the banks of the Guardiana river. Architecturally impressive, the town was completely submerged under the sea around the 17th century, and rebuilt on a grid sytem by Marquês de Pombal in 1774.
